Stockholm, Sweden, December 12, 2007— KULDA, the Swedish public and school library consortium for purchasing of e-resources, has recently selected EBSCO as its supplier of online newspapers.
As a result of the well-established cooperation between KULDA and EBSCO for EBSCO Publishing's products MasterFILE and NoveList, EBSCO managed to stand out as the preferred provider of PressDisplay™ to KULDA, signing agreements with 50 out of 290 Swedish communes for 110 licences.
"PressDisplay will make a significant contribution to the selection of journals and newspapers in the library, because it is accessible instantly and the choice is so wide. This will greatly benefit all our customers," said Britt-Inger Lindqvist, Library Manager, Borås Public Library.
By using PressDisplay, a digital newspaper portal solution, the consortium members will gain access to hundreds of newspapers and magazines from 71 countries around the world, in 38 languages, on the date of publication. PressDisplay enhances the reading experience with a user-friendly interface, easy-to-use navigation tools and powerful information management features such as advanced search, article sharing and social networking tools.
"It is library consortia like KULDA that have made PressDisplay.com the standard for online newspapers in hundreds of libraries around the world." said Alex Kroogman, CEO of NewspaperDirect. "For the price of a few international publications, KULDA libraries can provide their patrons with access to hundreds of premium content newspapers, on the day they were published, while helping to protect the environment."
As a leading provider for information services, EBSCO plays an active role throughout the Nordic countries in assisting libraries in the academic, corporate, government and public sectors with the management and access of e-journals, e-journal and e-book collections, databases and print journals.
