NewspaperDirect Delivers Over 240 Newspaper Titles at the Olympics

Same-day newspapers available throughout Athens including Media Center, Athletes Village and Retail Locations
Athens, Greece: NewspaperDirect, the world leader in digital delivery and local printing of same-day newspapers, is now printing and distributing a choice of over 240 same-day editions of out-of-market newspapers to athletes, journalists, sponsors and spectators at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens.
NewspaperDirect, in collaboration with its Greek License Partner, NewspaperDirect Hellas is operating an around-the-clock digital printing center in Athens to print newspapers and distribute them throughout the city. Some of the key titles being delivered include: Los Angeles Times, The Globe and Mail, Washington Post, New York Times, Yomiuri Shimbun, Boston Globe, The Irish Times, Basler Zeitung, Le Matin, Dong-A Ilbo, and a wide variety of titles from the United States, Europe, South America and Asia. NewspaperDirect Hellas, in operation since 2003, successfully provides digitally printed out-of-market newspapers throughout Greece to the hospitality, retail and corporate sectors.
Since the beginning of August, NewspaperDirect has been distributing same-day newspapers from its roster of over 240 titles to the Media Press Center, the Athletes and Media Villages, the International Broadcast Center, as well as to hotels, retailers, national houses, sponsor venues and residences in Athens. Some key customers include the Athens 2004 Organizing Committee, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Brazilian Olympic Committee, the Japanese Olympic Committee, Coca Cola Europe, NBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Seven Network, HMS Queen Mary, and Bell Canada. NewspaperDirect estimates that it is printing over 2,500 newspapers per day, making this the most substantial digital newspaper printing effort ever.
